Politically Correct Emojis - 2016/08/14
I don't quite like emojis to begin with (I prefer what would be called kaomojis which are characters that form faces rather than actual pictures, stuff like (ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻). However, I can see some people may find them fun to use. But I think it's starting to get a little out of hand, first of which being because of the amount of fucking emojis there are nowadays, if the system doesn't contain at least 1,000 emojis then it's a failure to represent 'muh feelings' or some shit (because I'm too lazy to actually write down a kaomoji instead), but most of all it's because of how you can find 20 different version of every emoji just because they wanted to be politically correct. Why? The early emojis were all yellow, and it's not like you could tell their gender either. I don't know of anyone that's that yellow, I know there's the stereotype of the Asians being yellow, but emojis came from there, so if anything it's okay. Why all the other races now? Why haven't we included other species yet? I don't see my favorite tree there, it deserves representation, it seems to also be ageist, where's old man playing tennis? Or old woman!?!?!

Basically, I think that trying to make emojis more 'relatable' (as they often say) is doing nothing but to create more tension where before there wasn't. It's like how everyone can relate to the minions (those detestable yellow things that are fucking everywhere), why? Because they aren't like any race, they're just stupid yellow blobs. Same with emojis, what's wrong with a yellow emoji? The important thing is that I understand the message being conveyed, not that I get picky because "It's not a Hispanic emoji!!! I feel insulted!!!!". The yellow emojis were neutral in terms of gender, race, age, and many other aspects, mostly because they're generic as fuck. But no, I'm going to be forced to scroll through 20,000 emojis just to find the single damn emoji that I'm looking for, mostly because there are 20 different versions of the same damn emoji to accommodate for race, gender, age, and whatever the fuck. Should we just create a purple emoji? Will everyone be happy then? Can we just stick with one color and make it as neutral as possible in just about every category? Nope, because apparently this generation needs something to fight for, and it can't be economic issues, it has to be some social issue such as those that their grandparents fought for, instead of, I don't know, fighting poverty.

And if you're still not convinced, just use kaomojis, then you can see them however the fuck you want. You know what colors my kaomojis have? Well, look at the one I put above, it's black with neon green and shit. Want to make it look white? Get the Stylish add-on and install a theme that makes it look white, or whatever other color you want it to be (maybe like a fucking pony, whatever).

So, please, stop being so damn picky with these damn emojis, the original yellow ones weren't racist, sexist, ageist, or anything before, they were simply neutral (a word that many people don't seem to understand nowadays).

Now, where would I possibly see emojis if I'm always doing everything from the terminal (like writing this blog post)? Well, the fact that GitHub and GitLab are using them now and how people I chat with use them (yeah, I need to start convincing people to use IRC to chat with me instead of texting and shit), they're fucking everywhere! It's as if the world has been dominated by teenagers and everything needs to be able to convey 'muh feelings'. Well fuck your feelings, this is a code repository, not your fucking diary, 'muh feelings' have no place in this context.
